The Purpose of Learning:
A life without purpose is a wasted gift of intelligence. We are not here merely to chase fleeting pleasures, but to seek something far greater—true happiness. Yet, happiness is not handed to us; it is earned through overcoming challenges and making sacrifices. Our comfort today exists because of those who came before us—our parents, teachers, scientists, and philosophers—who dedicated their lives to shaping a better world.
If we are to live meaningfully, our goals must go beyond ourselves. They should enrich not just our lives but also the lives of others, for we are one human race. Without this understanding, division and suffering will persist.
The key to shaping our future lies in learning. Education broadens our minds, sharpens our perspectives, and helps us recognize humanity’s most pressing challenges. Without knowledge, our goals remain shallow, and our impact, limited. This is why learning languages is not an end in itself but a gateway—a tool that expands our understanding of the world and connects us to different cultures, ideas, and people.
Language learning, then, is not just an academic pursuit—it is an asset, a bridge, and a powerful force in shaping an enlightened and connected world. Let it be the tool with which you carve your path, not just as a student, but as an informed, purposeful, and compassionate human being.

目的のない人生は、知性という贈り物を無駄にしています。私たちは単に瞬間的な快楽を追い求めるためにここにいるのではなく、もっと大きなもの—真の幸せを求めるために生きています。しかし、幸せは与えられるものではなく、挑戦を乗り越え、犠牲を払うことで得られるものです。今の私たちの快適さは、私たちの前に生きた人々—親、教師、科学者、哲学者—がより良い世界を作るために捧げた努力のおかげです。
意味のある人生を送るためには、私たちの目標は自分自身を超えたものでなければなりません。それは私たちの人生だけでなく、他者の人生を豊かにするものであるべきです。私たちは一つの人類です。この理解が欠けている限り、分断と苦しみは続くことでしょう。
未来を形作る鍵は「学び」にあります。教育は私たちの心を広げ、視野を鋭くし、人類が直面している最も重要な課題を認識する手助けをしてくれます。知識がなければ、私たちの目標は浅く、影響力も限られたものになってしまいます。だからこそ、言語学習は目的そのものではなく、世界を理解し、異なる文化や考え方、人々とつながるためのツール—入り口であるべきなのです。
言語学習は、単なる学問の追求ではなく、資産であり、橋であり、啓発的でつながりのある世界を築くための強力な力です。だからこそ、学ぶことを通じて道を切り開いていってください。学生としてだけではなく、情報を持ち、目的を持ち、思いやりのある人間として。
